Great Week

Our first week has been a great one.  The team has been incredible.  I do apologize that we haven’t been able to update more often.  We didn’t have any internet access until this evening.  Hopefully you’ve been following some of our trip over at

We’ve completed the first week of camp.  We’ve averaged about 8-9 kids each day.  Some are quite the handfull – to say the least.  Each morning we start the day out by having devotions with all of the residents and Beth.  Then its off to get ready for the kids to arrive between 8:30-9:00.  Camp is over around 3:15 each day at which point we head right into a meeting with Beth and some of the residents each day to learn from her and learn about each other.  After dinner each night we’ve pretty much had down time which has allowed us to food shop when needed and hang out together at other times.  In between everything else going on, we have just about finished completely re-doing one of the bathrooms here whose floors were rotting away and had holes in them.

Last Sunday we went down to the Merrimack River to baptize 15 residents who have recently accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Their testimonies are incredible.  As we arrived at the beach on the river we realized that a huge Columbian Festival was taking place there.  After speaking to the lifeguards, we were granted a small section of the beach and water for our baptisms.  Rob Surrat and I baptized all of the men and Beth and I baptized the women.  It was amazing to baptize these believers in the river in front of hundreds and hundreds of people watching and listening to their testimonies.  I will try to get some pictures up as soon as I get them sorted out.

Tomorrow is a huge block party put on by POP.  We’ll be heavily involved in it.  We’re praying for good weather, although the forecast doesn’t look promising.  In the midst of the busyness of the party tomorrow, I’ll be taking Steve & Joy to the airport so they can return home and picking Tammy up to join us for the second week.

For your viewing pleasure, below are a couple of videos we shot Wednesday night while down at Quincy’s Market and today during camp.  Enjoy.
