Isaiah 36

Reading this chapter reminds me so much of the way things are today.  The world cries out to followers of Jesus not to trust in God, how silly.  Don’t depend on a God who isn’t even really there.  Why do you insist on using Jesus as a crutch?  The world tells us to depend on government, education, the  military, our own wisdom, and anything else it wants to try selling.  Satan tries to get us to turn our backs on God with this tactic because our human nature reasons that it is so much easier to trust in things we can see as opposed to a God who we “can’t see” (in quotes because I believe we really can see God in and through so much if we will look).  May we not fall prey to Satan’s schemes of trusting in anything other than the God of the Universe.
