Isaiah 33:7-24

There was a lot of good stuff in this chapter of Isaiah.  The prophet presents a list of the traits that need to be present in our lives if we are to dwell with God.  Here’s the list from vv. 14-16:

  • walk righteously
  • speak what is right
  • reject gain from extortion
  • do not accept bribes
  • don’t listen to plots of murder (can this also mean gossip – as we learn throughout the New Testament that our tongues can kill a person?)
  • refuse to contemplate evil

This is the man (as v. 16 puts it) who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress, whose bread will be supplied and whose water will never fail him.

Hmmmm…
