Isaiah 26:1-4

 1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
       We have a strong city;
       God makes salvation
       its walls and ramparts.

    2 Open the gates
       that the righteous nation may enter,
       the nation that keeps faith.

    3 You will keep in perfect peace
       him whose mind is steadfast,
       because he trusts in you.

    4 Trust in the LORD forever,
       for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

Why do we so often place our trust in other things and people instead of God?  He is the Rock Eternal but we tend to place our trust in the sand and mud of the temporal.

Father – The Rock Eternal – when I am tempted to trust in myself and my understanding and abilities, or in other people or even things, would you remind me that my trust is in a much better and much more secure place when it is placed in You?  Amen.
